Dorm Room Decor Ideas: Lamps, Mirrors, Wall Decor + More

A dorm room usually comes with a bed, a desk and a lot of blank wall, so this is where to make it feel like yours. Our dorm decor covers lighting, mirrors, wall art, rugs and desk storage, with pink, pastel, retro and minimalist pieces that turn a standard room into something more personal.

Lighting is the first fix. Dorm room lighting often leans on one overhead fixture, so a dorm lamp changes the room fast: mushroom, Bauhaus, pleated and mini table lamps for the desk or bedside, plus sunset projection lamps and LED night lights for a softer glow. Shop all lighting or go straight to mushroom lamps.

Then deal with the walls. Dorm wall decor can mean digital poster sets, printed posters, a mirror, a wall clock, a photo frame or a pin board for photos and notes. Browse wall art prints and mirrors to build a small gallery wall with just a few pieces.

Warm up the floor with a dorm rug in a checkerboard, scalloped, vinyl record or animal-shaped style, then keep the desk tidy with trays, organizers and storage boxes. Shop rugs & area rugs and dorm storage, or add a few trays & holders.

Want a style to build around? Try preppy room decor for crisp pattern or coquette room decor for a softer look, and see bedding sets when you're ready to dress the bed. See what just landed in new arrivals.
